Home Learning:
Reading books - please encourage your child to read and any other reading in your environment (signposts, shopping lists, children's magazines...). Please comment in records and encourage your child to change their book when they have finished it. Any book reviews welcome!
Spellings - 12 spellings sent home weekly with a test on Friday. These are taken from the Year 3 and 4 Common Exception Words as well as a Covid Catch Up Spelling scheme. If you would like guidance or ideas on how to practice please ask.
Times Tables - In order to access the KS2 curriculum, having a secure, rapid recall of times tables (up to 12x12) is vital. Therefore, there is a national test in June (MTC). Every week, your child will be practicing times tables and having a test on Friday. Any practice you can do of this - even 5 minutes each day - will have a profound impact. Again, if you need help with this, please ask.
Together Time - Back to school after the summer holidays can be a really tricky time for the whole family, so we encourage you to try and take a little time just to do something you all enjoy - whenever you can. In fact, time together doing an activity you both enjoy has shown to improve speech and language, mental wellbeing, and can help regulate emotions - even just a walk!
