Thrive

Hello,

This academic year, Roman Way School has introduced a half-termly Thrive focus, which I launched at one of our first whole-school assemblies.

Summer 1 Thrive Focus: Positive Affirmations

This term, we are helping our children discover the power of positive words and encouragement. Positive affirmations are like little boosts of kindness — both for ourselves and for others.

We want our children to:

  • Notice the good in themselves and others by saying kind things
  • Encourage friends with supportive words like “You can do it!” or “I’m proud of you!”
  • Celebrate successes, big or small, to help everyone feel valued and confident

By practicing positive affirmations every day, children can create a happier, kinder school community where everyone feels supported and respected.

This also links to the importance of using positive affirmations, helping children understand how their words and actions can uplift others and the difference they can make in creating a kind and supportive school community.

By focusing on positive affirmations, we aim to promote respectful behaviour, strong relationships, and emotional wellbeing across the school.

Thank you,
Mrs Franklin
