Physical Development
Physical development is one of the seven areas of the early years foundation stage and is used to develop a child's movement, handling of objects, understanding of their own body and health and levels of self-care. Physical development focuses on gross motor skills, supporting the children's core muscles to develop their strength to become a super strong writer and resilient within all aspects of the classroom.
Gross Motor Skills Activities
- Den building - using various materials such as: cardboard boxes, wooden blocks, materials etc. To support strength and careful handling of materials.
- Climbing and risky play.
- Using bikes, trikes or scooters.
- Dancing and creating patterns using their bodies. Can you stamp, clap and jump?
- Skipping, jumping, hopping and running.
- Balancing - Yoga.
Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure
