EYFS - Roma

Hello and welcome to Roma's class page!

Here you will find regular updates on Roma's learning as well as some ideas and resources to support your child at home.

Below you will find links  to useful publications and documents.

Please take a look at the What to expect, when? This is a document from the Department for Education specifically for parents. It gives guidance on how your child is learning and developing during their first five years, in relation to the EYFS. It is important to know that children develop more rapidly during the first five years of their lives than at any other time. The booklet has been written to help you as a parent know what to expect during these vitally important years by focusing on the seven areas of learning and development which are covered in the EYFS.

Suggested Home Learning Timetable.

We understand that juggling home schooling and working from home is a difficult task so we have put together a timetable that you might want to use to help structure your child's day. It is a flexible timetable and of course the activities can be done in any order. Remember small chunks of learning is best at this age and there are no expectations for your child to sit for long periods of time filling out worksheets. At this age children learn best through play. By engaging in their play and getting involved in that game of racing cars or princess dress up has a great impact on their little brains. If you don't achieve all of the activities you set out to do in a day don't panic! Take it slow, it is a learning curve for everyone and have some comfort in the fact that everyone is in the same boat.

Of course we love to see what the children have been up to whether it is activities we have suggested or activities you have thought of at home so, we really would love it if you could upload pictures and comments onto your child's Tapestry profile. If you need any more info on how to log in to this please contact the school.
