Art

w.c. 18.5.20

If you have a look at the English section on the subjects page, you will find that you have been learning all about the wonderful story Wind in the Willows!

I thought it would be a great idea for you to create a piece of art work around the river. You can do this as creatively as you would like to.

Some ideas:

- Draw using a pencil

- Paint

- Cut out coloured paper and stick together

- Chalk - you could do this on paper or maybe on the path outside your house or in your garden (Please ask your parents permission before doing this)!!

- Playdough

- You could find different objects around your house and make a big collage of the river

- If you have access to a computer which has the 'paint' app, you could paint it on there

- Use empty boxes, tin cans, squash bottles and create a 3D river

Hopefully many of you have taken a look at the NEW icon page called VE Day. Here you will have already learnt all about what VE day is and why it is important.

During and after World War 2 many brave men and women were reward medals for their bravery.

This week I would love you to create a war medal ( See link below). Once you have done that, have a think about who else deserves a medal. This could be for helping others (NHS, local shop keeper) , being an amazing sister, helping you everyday or for just being amazing. You could create medals for these people too. Be creative, you can use different skills such as baking, sewing, painting or building.

Here are a few examples to spark some ideas.

Hopefully many of you have taken a look at the geography section and have already learnt all about mountains.

This week I would love you to create a collage piece of art work. Using different materials, newspapers, magazines, food packaging e.t.c create a beautiful landscape image of a mountain range. It will be great fun ripping and tearing. Or you could make something 3D.

Here are a few examples to spark some ideas.

Hopefully many of you have taken a look at the geography section and have already learnt all about Rivers.

Some of you many have already completed the very boring worksheet on that page that showed the journey a river takes.

I think we can make this a little more exciting.

Using any materials you can find around the house or in the garden create a model of a rivers journey to the ocean.

Here are a few examples to spark some ideas.
