Last week, all of our activities and games revolved around the story 'Peter Pan'. We had a great week and particularly enjoyed turning our role play area into the lost boys hide out.
This week, we have turned our role play area into a castle and have also made a small world castle area. We have been reading fairy tales and thinking about the characters in the stories. We have also worked together to create a huge dragon which we are going to put up in our classroom. (03.10.17)
Roma enjoyed finishing our work on fairy tales before half term and we had loads of fun on our fairy tale day!
This week, our focus has been fireworks, we made some beautiful firework and bonfire art and even had a go at writing some words to describe fireworks. At the end of the week, we had a big discussion about staying safe when watching fireworks. (03.11.17)
Roma have had great fun learning about autumn and the changes going on at this time of year. We enjoyed our autumn walk around school and took some lovely photos of autumn leaves. We then read the Percy the Park Keeper story 'After the Storm' and had a go at designing new homes for Percy's animal friends. We also red other stories with woodland animals in and painted some beautiful fox, hedgehog, badger, rabbit and squirrel pictures. We are now linking our learning of autumn and woodland animals to one of our favourite stories, The Gruffalo. (22.11.17)
Roma had so much fun learning about The Gruffalo, Stick Man and The Gruffalo's Child. We acted out the stories using our puppets and used story stones to tell the story as well. The children drew some beautiful pictures of the Gruffalo and labeled them brilliantly. At the moment, we are spending lots of time with year 1 in the hall practising our Nativity, all of the children are doing so well. We are also practising our number ordering whilst making advent calendars. (05.12.17)
Roma have had a busy few weeks getting ready for Christmas!
We loved our trip to The Lights to see our Christmas show and we were all fantastic in our Nativity which we performed for the school and for our families. We also had a busy few days getting ready for the Christmas Fayre, we made lots of different decorations to sell. (20.12.17)
