Young Carers
Young Carers at Roman Way Primary School
A young carer is a child or young person who helps look after a family member who has an illness, disability, mental health condition, or other additional needs. This support can sometimes make balancing school and home life more challenging.
At our school, we recognise and support young carers. We run a Young Carers Lunch Club every Friday, offering a relaxed space to eat lunch, chat, and feel supported. Once a month, we are also joined by a member of staff from Andover Young Carers, who provides additional support and advice.
