Summer Term One.

Welcome to the Year 5 Class page, We are looking forward to a fantastic year and learning many new and exciting things! 

Our project for this half term is called: Why would a refugee move to Andover? This is a Geography project, with links to our Art and English, where we will be exploring the children will think about the needs of a settlement, including the ones a refugee might live in and then the needs of the planet as a whole. After discussing the idea of a carbon footprint, children will consider how their actions impact on others around the world, and to think about the changes that they could make (at home and in school) to try to ensure that natural resources are shared so there is enough for everyone.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, we have PE, which is currently volleyball and athletics. Please can children come to school in suitable P.E. kit (including footwear) on those days - thank you.

On Forest School days (see the timetable below for dates), the children need to come dressed for being outside - long sleeve top, long trousers/jogging bottoms, sensible footwear and a waterproof jacket (in case it is cold/raining).
