Library Time - Lower KS2

Mr Stink by David Walliams - Week Two

Hello Everyone,

This week I am reading the rest of Chapter One! Can anyone remember what we discovered last time? Most people ignore Mr Stink, they don't treat him with empathy or kindness. But Chloe is different - she wants to learn more about him...

We have learnt that Chloe is being bullied at school. What is bullying? Can you think of the ways we stop bullying at Roman Way?

For this week's activity I'd like you to do some 'Thought Tracking'. Read the extract and write down what Chloe and Mr Stink really think of each other. Not sure what to write? You can look at my example to get some ideas!

Have Fun!

Mr Stink by David Walliams - Week One

Hello Children,

This week I am starting Mr Stink by David Walliams - it helps us to understand empathy. Do you know what empathy is? It's about being kind, putting yourself in "someone else's shoes" and thinking about their feelings and worries. Showing empathy is like having a super power, it can help other people feel better!

What is Chloe's impression of Mr Stink? Does she show good empathy? Print of the activity sheet to write and draw how she might be thinking or feeling. Have a go at drawing her facial expressions! Can you think of any questions she might like to ask Mr Stink? Once you've done that, let us know what Mr Stink is thinking and feeling!
