Last term Year Five took part in the Hampshire Illustrated Book Award (HIBA) for the third year running. Pompeii joined children from over 150 local schools in reading, evaluating and judging a shortlist of six Picture Books for Older Readers.
This year’s shortlist included;
- Maude: The Not-So-Noticeable Shrimpton by Lauren Child & Tricia Krauss

- Spider and the Fly by Tony DiTerlizzi
- Pirate Next Door by Johny Duddle
- Frank Show by David Mackintosh
- Black Dog by Levi Pinfold
- How Dinosaurs Really Work by Alan Snow
