EYFS - Roma

Hello and welcome to Roma's class page!

Here you will find regular updates on Roma's learning as well as some ideas and resources to support your child at home.

Meet the Early Years Team!

Below you will find links  to useful publications and documents.

Please take a look at the What to expect, when? This is a document from the Department for Education specifically for parents. It gives guidance on how your child is learning and developing during their first five years, in relation to the EYFS. It is important to know that children develop more rapidly during the first five years of their lives than at any other time. The booklet has been written to help you as a parent know what to expect during these vitally important years by focusing on the seven areas of learning and development which are covered in the EYFS.

Roma Class Information

  • Forest School is every Tuesday morning.
  • PE is every Wednesday Morning.

We are currently learning about:

  • Traditional Tales and Fairy Tales.
  • In Roma Class we have been exploring lots of different traditional tales such as: The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, The Lucky Duckling and more!
  • We will also be looking at Mixed Up Fairy Tales and Mr Wolf's Pancakes.
  • We have had lots of fun learning about these stories - Sequencing the story, describing characters, discussing how characters might feel, creating our own Mixed Up Fairy Tales and recipes for Mr Wolf.
  • The children have created their own paper plate portrait, as well as made some lovely necklaces, designed and built the Little Pigs super strong houses, exploring finger painting and construction.
  • We have been tuning into our Phase 1 Phonics listening skills. We've been playing lots of fun listening games in the classroom and outdoor area. To support the children's hearing of sounds, ready for Phase 2!
  • The children have also been developing their number understanding and recognition 0-10. We have been working super hard practising our counting and number formation.
