This half term, the children will be learning about 'The Extreme Earth' and the processes that happen under our very feet. The children have been really interested learning about sinkholes and volcanoes and have been working really hard in writing an explanation text all about how they are formed and what happens when they erupt.
In science, we have been looking at solids, liquids and gasses and even been exploring The Science of Farts! This was a very fun lesson enjoyed by all!
The week beginning the 23rd of January, the children have started our new English unit which is writing a story set in a natural disaster but writing in the first person. To start the unit, the children read a passage for the Wizard of Oz and highlighted all the times L. Frank Baum (the author) has used language to describe the tornado - See the photos!
